Meaningful abstract works in acrylic, painted in moderate colours and brimming with structure: these are the paintings that artist Lydia Mayr Schwembacher showcases in the Gallery Willy.
The pictures are created from within, they are an evolution. As soon as Mayr begins with a painting, she gives herself fully to her craft. And with every brushstroke, the picture emerges, the idea grows.
Mayr can never say in advance when a painting will be finished, the feeling simply arises. "The moment comes, where I feel: now the work is complete," says the artist.
For more than 10 years Lydia Mayr Schwembacher has dedicated herself to art. She has continuously advanced her knowledge and interest in contemporary art.
Currently she likes the works of the artist Anselm Kiefer. His large-format paintings in sombre colours inspire her.
From the beginning Mayr has specialized in acrylic, in the last years her works have increased in structure, visible in her current exhibited works.
The artist's works are on display from 2 April to 31 May 2020 at the Gallery Willy in the Hotel and Restaurant Sparerhof in Vilpian. The exhibition is open all day and freely accessible.
